Peer Support

photo of disabled person being assisted across parking lotPeer Support — One-to-one Peer Support is available from trained volunteers and staff who have personally experienced a disability, and are willing to share their own life experiences. Information, guidance, and support may be provided to assist a consumer dealing with issues related to their disability. The goal of peer support is to assist the person in learning coping skills for today’s world. The peer support program uses the motto “been there, done that,” meaning that experience is the best education.
