The ILCW represents the public in planning for independent living services for people with disabilities in Wisconsin. Our vision is to achieve:
Full inclusion of people
with disabilities in society
The ILCW promotes self determination and full inclusion of people with disabilities in Wisconsin.
We provide and support independent living philosophy and services to maximize the leadership, empowerment, and productivity of individuals with disabilities in order that each will live and participate in their community of choice.
We do this by:
- Developing, jointly with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the
State Plan for Independent Living
- Reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating the implementation of the State Plan for Independent Living
- Collaborating with the Wisconsin Rehabilitation Council and other disability councils under federal law
